I put my parents and my dh's parents at the same table, along with grandparents and other "notables"
we alternated tables on either side of the room so it wasn't spilt down the middle.
we also opted to put our BP and friends at the last 3 tables or so...we already knew we'd be spending most of the night with them...and they wouldn't be looking around seeing who got a better seat than they did  If I put my MOH and my brother at the table closest to the dj, no one else could say JACK!

we did the sweetheart table and then started table 1 with my family and then table 2 with his family- we had the bridal party sit with family and friends.

Our arrangement went parents table closest on either side followed by bridal party tables second.

My parents/family were on one side of the room 1st table and DH's parents/family were on the other side-1st table
BP was sitting with their guest/spouse whoever- and mutual friends.They were sitting at front of the dance floor tables though. We didn't have the BP sit together because they each came with their guest and would have more fun with the mutual friends than sitting together when they had other people they knew at the wedding
