Re: Does anyone shop at K-mart anymore?
Well, its no surprise that the company declared Chapter 11 in 2005 and was bought out by Sears. So far, the company has not seen positive returns on investments (I'm a geek who follows this). While I hate Kmart and find their stores nasty, I don't mind Walmart. I can't stand the Walmart in Centerreach (yucky) but the one in Islandia doesn't bother me.
Target by far is the best, but for health and beauty items nobody beats CVS for prices. Plus, CVS is like 2 mins from my house and I can get in and out so fast.

Really? Are CVS prices that good? I never go there because in times past I've felt it was too expensive. I love to get my health/beauty items at Walmart because they're so cheap. But if it's cheaper at CVS I might as well start checking it out again! And since I've moved CVS is the closest to me.

I don't think their prices are good. Some of the Martha Stewart stuff is nice, but I'd rather shop at Target.

Only if I need something quick bc there is one right near my house. Otherwise, I head over to Target or Walmart depending on what I am looking for. .

Re: Does anyone shop at K-mart anymore?
I've gone to the one in Huntington. We bought most of our Martha Stewart Christmas ornaments from there.
Last week we scored some Take 5 candy bars from there.
But it's not a store we go to often.
Target is in a whole other league, and we definitely prefer to shop there.
ETA: I do not feel comfortable going to that shopping center alone at night. I usually go with my husband, or not at all.
As far as Kmarts go though, I do think the one in Huntington is the cleanest one I've been to, which isn't really saying much though.

Not to sound like a snob but I refuse to go into the one in Sayville/Bohemia. There is a class of people in there that leaves something to be desired. No other store in that shopping center is like that.
I guess I am in that class of people that leave something to be desired! Oh Well!
That store is about 10 minutes from my house so I pop up there every now and again. Mostly because it is open late and is nearby.
