those that are already moms.. need help!!

Ok so for my shower I got the usuals... stroller, car seat, bathtub...etc.
I also got tons and tons and tons of clothes, bibs, and blankets - both fleece and recieving. Now my question is should I keep it all or should I exchange some of it. I didn't do a count yet but I know I have at least 20+ outfits for all ages.. newborn, 0-3, 3-6, 6-9 and even got all the way to 24 months. I got 20+ for each age category. As a new mom i'm feeling very overwhelmed and am wondering how many outfits for each stage should I keep, how many blankets do I need?? PLEASE HELP

I would say however many bibs you got, keep them ALL! As for the blankets...oh lord, I got TONS and I've used *maybe* 6? Clothes...20 of each size? I think that's a lot. I'd keep at least 10 of each size though.

Hope you had fun!

Not a mom yet but if I were you I'd return some if it can go towards the other stuff you didn't get that need.

well, I think it's a personal call honestly. I got an insane amount of clothes for my first daughter along with my own shoppingChat Icon However I kept everything, very little I returned. I did have quite a few with tags left on them. But now that I am having DD#2, I took the tags off those clothes and am using them. For the first few months, will you be dressing your child daily? Or will it be in onsies/sleepers? If you feel you have a lot for 0-3 than I would return some. You'll be surprised how much you'll feel you may need. Again, it's a personal decision. sorry not much help.

Bibs: yes keep them all!
Blankets: I have the same amount and like other PP I used half of that. However used all the receiving blankets. they come in handy for lots of things.

my concern would be: will your child fit the right size in the right season? You really don't know how they'll grow - ages often don't match sizes. By the time you find out, you won't be able to return the outfits.

I didn't get a lot of clothes at my shower because we didn't know what we were having. Once Ella was born, I was inundated with summer outfits - most of which she only got to wear once, if at all, before the weather changed.

I didn't get a lot of clothes at my shower, but I got a ton after the baby was born and almost all were 0-3 months. Being that she was born in January and isn't going to be out much at all until I go back to work I decided to return a lot of the 0-3 month outfits. I ended up with a $160 credit at Kohls, which we'll use when she gets bigger to buy summer outfits.

I got a ton of clothes too and I kept it all. I would only return clothes if they are duplicates, I wouldn't want to be running around returning clothing right before I had a baby.

I got tons of clothes for my shower. I kept most of them and for the most part am using them. I returned things that I knew were out of season. So for instance a snowsuit that was 6-9 months would have fit her in the middle of july Chat Icon

I kept all my bibs and use them.

Blankets I also got a ton of. Beautiful ones that I am never going to use. She sleeps in a sleep sack. I think I've used maybe 2 or three receiving blankets for when she takes naps in her bouncer. They are for me a total waste.

I would choose 2 blankets that you love and then return the rest. You have NO idea how many blankets that I got at my shower.Chat Icon

I would return some of the newborn stuff and 0-3 month stuff. You really don't need that much. Also the blankets are nice but you only really need one or two.

I agree, especially because DS grew out of NB and 0-3 within a few weeks. Also you will get alot of clothes as gifts once your baby is born, so if you really got that many I would return some. And I would keep the tags on everything 3-6 and larger to ensure they fit in the right seasons as well.

Bibs, I have a spitter upper so I have like 30 bibs and use them ALL. Blankets, I have a whole drawer full, I use about 4-5 receiving blankets (one at night, one when he is other parts of the house - swing, bouncer, etc) and I keep one in each diaper bag) and 1 handmade blanket and I have one thicker one I use with the carseat when its really cold (in addition to the bundle me)
