if I want a roof over my head, lights on, a car in the driveway- I need to take care of it myself

he does his.
he pays the rent, car ins, garage...though I sometimes give him the checks, it that counts 
We do the same.

DH pays the bills in Australia.
I do for the US bills (student loans and any credit card bills for US products- things are cheaper in the US).
We live in Australia.

Both of us. Who's ever home first goes through the mail and we notify each other of what bills we are paying.

I pay the bill that come by mail, he handles the online ones. I def got the short end of the stick with this too.

I'm actually surprised because I always felt the need to be on top of these things - now I'm all for DH taking care of it!
Me too ! I thought it would be me but it's technically DH. I say technically because, we have all our bills coming out of our account automatically (mortgage, cable, electric,etc).....but I never check the account  I deposit a portion of my paycheck every month & he pretty much just monitors all the debits.

I pay the bills. He'll pay everything online if I ask him to and tell him how much everything is. But we both know what's going on with all the bills.
