What do you think?

If you are having another shower/sprinkle and your ds/dd is 3, do you bring them to your shower?

Sure, why not? Unless it's a good opportunity for him to do something fun with Daddy for the afternoon before baby comes.

Re: What do you think?

I am bringing Kiera to mine and she is 3. We are actually even putting her name on the invitation also. We are calling it welcome baby luncheon to honor Jenn and Big Sister Kiera. I thought it would be good for her to be a part of it and for people to make a big deal out of her too.

I guess I am in the minority. I had a sprinkle and it was just my closest friends and family at a restaurant. No kids came.

Re: What do you think?

Mine was a "girls night out" a group of friends who went out for dinner and drinks (well none for me) with some baby girl gifts and joke gifts.
The greatest gift of all was my friend who picked me up for it brought a sitter for my son (then 2.5 years old) :)

Now if it was a family party, if my DC was a girl rather then a boy, if it was in a house I would say bring a 3 year old.

But in our circle men and boys don't do showers so there was no need for DS to come and also it was nice to have 2 hours to celebrate the coming of the new baby.

Long story short it was at his bedtime anyway so it wouldn't have been enjoyable and everyone else got sitters for their kids.

At the last sprinkle I attended a good friend brought her 3 year old. I was a hostess and left my son at home and the guest of honor left her 3.5 year old at home as well... well long story short the mommy to be again didn't open her gifts the 3 year old did and she went so far as to open some of the packaging. Yes, the mother should have stopped her but she didn't and it was annoying to watch and dissapointing for my friend who the shower was for. Now it may have been different if the big brother to be or big sister to be was helping to open gifts but they were home with a sitter.

Re: What do you think?

In my family, we always have a "sprinkle" for all of the upcoming new arrivals.

It is always just the girls, grown-up and little ones.

Kids have not been at the ones we've thrown. I would enjoy a break if it were me. Let DH have him for the day.

Re: What do you think?

I went to a work shower and the Mom to be's 5 year old was there. He was hysterical with opening all of the gifts for the new baby, and showing us how the worked. I agree with the above, unless DH wants to make it a boys day out, bring DS along!
