pack and play ??
does anyone plan on using their pack and play as a bassinett for the first couple of months? i really don't want to go crazy overboard with registering and my mom suggested that. is it safe?

Re: pack and play ??
All of my girlfriends who have children recommended using the PnP as a bassinet. It has a separate layer that is higher and strong enough to hold the baby. This is definitely what I plan to do.

Re: pack and play ??
oh yes definitly. we are very limited on our space and we will be using it until the baby doesn't fit anymore. Our also comes with a changing table hence more space saving.

Re: pack and play ??
Well my SIL didn't use it as her bassinet, but she did use it all the time during the day for naps, etc. I think its perfectly fine!

Re: pack and play ??
If it fit in our bedroom I would totally use it for that. Thankfully, my cousin is lending us her bassinet.

Re: pack and play ??
I registered for a bassinet and a pack and play, since I live in a two story house. Thought the bassinet can stay in my room and the pnp can stay in the living room.

that is exactly what we are doing. otherwise, i probably wouldn't have bought one since our apartment is small.

Re: pack and play ??
The bassinet I registered for is a mini pack n play....my sister has worked in daycare for years and is now a nanny and says they are great as bassinets!

Re: pack and play ??
I have both the PNP and a bassinet.
I use the bassinet for night time sleeps and the PNP for naps.
It has worked out wonderfully.... It's almost as if she now knows that the PNP is only for naps.
IMO it's a great thing to have cuz what if you wanna go out on visits... U don't want to just lay them anywhere and you have the PNP to use as their bed!

Re: pack and play ??
We are registering for the mini pack n play for a bassinet - for our bedroom. We are also getting a regular size one for our family room (we have a split level). We really weren't crazy about any of the bassinets and we figured that the mini pnp could be used for travel as well.

Re: pack and play ??
If I didn't have a bassinett already (my mom bought a little antique one), I wuld use the PNP as a bassinett for sure. My mom runs a day care, and uses PNPs for naps for all the babies.

Re: pack and play ??
That is my plan. And not for the first few months. Really just for a few weeks to a month. Until I am healed from delivery and comfortable enough with putting the baby in the crib.
