Question about Sirius receivers

I want to get my DH the Sirius thingie so that he could listen to his precious Howard. I want one that he could listen in the car and at home...so I saw this one:

It's on sale at Radio Shack...my question is, willhe be able to listen to "live" broadcasts with this system? Also, can he use it in the car and at home?

If not, can you recommend a system that has what I want, pref. not over $150?

Thanks!

ETA:

Does this one have what I want? Or is it for sports only?

Re: Question about Sirius receivers

Bri bought me the first one you showed. She had to buy the docking station for it so i could use it in the house. You can listen to it live in the car and the house.

Re: Question about Sirius receivers

I just responded on LIWeddings....so I'm copying and pasting what I wrote.

Ok I got the scoop on this. Basically the first set that you show is for the car. You get the unit with an antenna to put on the trunk and the docking station that you put the unit in so that ihe can listen to it through the speakers in the car. (Wireless). You can also buy another docking station that he would take with him to the office or home and he needs to connect it to a radio/stereo system.

The second thing you show is similar. It still comes with the stuff you need for the car but for the home/office you would buy a boombox that you put the actual unit in. So, you don't need a docking station to connect to a stereo because the boombox is the stereo.

With the Sirius service you'll have the same 125 channels with either one you buy.

A difference between the two besides what I mentioned above is that the 2nd one has a multiple line display where the 1st only shows 2 lines on the screen. Not a huge deal in my opinion.

Hope this helps! My sister just bought one for her husband and was going crazy trying to figure out what he needed so I did some research

it all depends on your needs - they can give you and idea of what you may want

a receiver for my car to add to my subscription that we already have was $49.99
