sirius radio- $ question
Might be a dumb question, but can you negotiate the price of sirius radio? i heard you can...
so was curious if anyone did and was able to. My husbands is up for renewal. Were thinking of doing the lifetime subscription but not at that price.
TIA!
**ETA: what package do you have?

Re: sirius radio- $ question
We play the negotiation game with Sirius all the time over the years.
Sometimes you can negotiate when your contract is up and other times they won't work with you.
When my subscription was up I was able to get 6 mos for $5 a month. At the end of that period I know they will be harder to negotiate anything at all. DH could not get them to go lower after his subscription came up for renewal. They wouldn't go below $13 a month and I told them to shove it.
As always, a month later he received a "Come back!" letter offering him......6 mos for $5 a month. This happens every.single.time. they won't negotiate. We cancel and go a month or two without it and they offer us what we originally asked for or better.

Re: sirius radio- $ question
My free 1 year subscription was up a while ago and I kept getting $25 for 6 months deals in the mail. You might have to wait till it lapses to get a good deal. It's also free activation included when I get these deals.

Re: sirius radio- $ question
I think I pay $13 a month
but I listen to it- so it's worth it to me- I could go a day with out - let alone a month to save a few bucks

Re: sirius radio- $ question
my new toyota came with XM/sirius, and i got it free for 3 months. When the trial was up, I got a letter for them offering 6 months for $30- so $5 a month. I'm not super attached to it, but for $5 a month, i figured i would go for it. That will be up in august, so we'll see if I get another letter from them with the same deal...

Re: sirius radio- $ question
I pay $20 for 6 months. I always negotiate. Last time I called to renew they gave me 3 months free and told me to call when that expired for the $20 deal again.

Re: sirius radio- $ question
My 1 year contract with XM (Siriius Select Package) was set to expire today. They sent me a renewal notice in the mail 2 months ago telling me the rate would be $ 173 for the year (including a music royalty fee/taxes).
Since I just bought a new car that comes with a free 3 month subscription, I called Customer Service to cancel my membership but they ended up offering me a deal for $ 150 for another year once my 3 month free trial period expires on July 1st. They also gave me a $ 25 credit (dont know why) and waived the $ 15 re-activation fee. $150 for a year comes out to around $12.50/month.
I listen to it in my car all the time so the cost is worth it to me..(for now..lol).

Re: sirius radio- $ question
I was up for renewal in February, but declined it because there was no way I was spending close to $200! So I went about a month without it, and they actually just called me yesterday with a "promotion". I ended up getting a year subscription for $80. My only advice is to just wait it out if you can. They will definitely call you with special pricing if you decline to renew. Good luck!

Re: sirius radio- $ question
i did not know this! I just got our renewal for almost $300 for both DH and I. We both listen to it all the time, so it's worth it for us. I'm going to tell him I'm going to wait it out before I send them a check! thanks

Re: sirius radio- $ question
so i just called and mentioned the $77 a year package. She said that was last years rate. After a while, she finally said the best they could do was $88 dollars for the year, $94 with taxes/fees.
I didn't take it. I may just wait it out to pay only $60 a year...

We just let it lapse. They sent us the $30 option for 6 months so that's what we did. We have all the channels.

Re: sirius radio- $ question
Those of you with Sirius - how do you pay?? My DH had it in his truck & went through all sorts of nonsense to cancel it when his contract was up (twice!)!
I think he had to call literally within a 2 day period at certain times of the day... it was ridiculous!!!! For that inconvenience alone, DH says he won't renew, but I DIE on long trips without it. LOL.
Thanks!
