question for a friend
Is it normal to be itchy during the first trimester? My friend says her belly, back and boobs are itchy...i though maybe due to growth- but why would her back itch?
Anyone else experience this?

I have totally had this...it started at the end of the first trimester and is still going!
I also have little red bumps all over - almost like little pimples. Dr. said that the skin gets extremely sensitive during pregnancy and that if you have sensitive skin to start with (I do) it gets much worse when PG.

Very normal to be itchy. My feet kept itching me in my first trimester. Your skin can get very dry while your pregnant. Tell her to use more lotion and that should help.

I had this around 17 weeks. I think the back makes sense b/c everything is stretching and hips are spreading.

I still itch all the time, mainly by belly but also back and other areas.
