DH does--he clenches and grinds his teeth at nite. its such a terrible sound! i keep telling him to get a mouth guard---but he never has.

At a recent dentist visit, I was told that I likely clench my teeth while I sleep. Since then, Ive noticed that my jaw is clenched and tight freqently.
Has anyone experienced this also? Is there anything I can do?

I also clench and grind my teeth at night. My jaw sometimes feels sore and weird the next day. I have not gotten any kind of mouth guards but I do find my DH punching me in my ribs and yelling stop doing that, while annoying at the time, is very helpful.

my dentist made me my mouth guard. it wasn't uncomfortable. you don't even realize it's in after you wear it a few times

yes, my dentist made a mold of my upper teeth and made my mouth guard out of that

I have broken a cap by grinding my teeth more than once.

I have this, I do this a lot. I catch myself doing it often.
I have a bite plate I had made up for night time. Other than consciously stopping myself, and wearing the biteplate, and massaging my jaw area, that's about all I can do to improve the situation.

I clench but don't grind. I have taught myself to relax my jaw before I fall asleep and it helps SO much. If I don't, OMG...the headache the next day...

I do it during the day and night. My whole face feels so tired sometimes. I haven't gone for any treatment for it yet though.

i grind in my sleep and got a mouthguard made by my dentist.
I never really believed that I did until I looked at the mouthguard after using it about a month and saw all the marks I was leaving in the plastic with my grinding.
I can't believe that could have been the surface of my teeth!

YES! I wake up every morning with my teeth clenched. I even felt like I chipped part of one of my fillings recently..how do i get it to stop?>

I do and have chipped teeth from it.
I finally got a night guard and it works wonders.

You can buy it in the drugstore too.
It's a lot cheaper that way.
My dentist recommended I try that first to see if it worked and if it didn't to come in for a custom one....
