Re: Sono at 6-7 weeks?
First of all....congratulations on your pregnancy! I am so happy for you and your DH!! I had an early sono but we weren't able to see anything until 7-8 weeks.

Re: Sono at 6-7 weeks?
Now I am wondering if I should change the appointment.
My insurance company only allows 3 sonograms. Which I learned from the last baby.
I had to have a 4th sonogram right after I found out the problem with the baby, and the insurance company is telling me that they won't allow it. I hate them. They said it needed to me authorization. I claim there was no time for authorization.
The insurance company is also claiming that my stay in the hospital was not 'medically necessary' if that makes any sense. Nothing like bringing up the horrible event over and over with letters to my house. grrrrr

don't change your appointment....my insurance only allows 3 per pregnancy too...that being said, i've had approximately 20 already. as long as the doctor gets pre-approval from the insurance company, they will be given the opportunity to proceed as necessary. i'm sure your doctors office is aware of this and given your situation will want you to have the best care possible. insurance is a NIGHTMARE! i've learned this more and more in the recent past. if you have any questions about my situation, feel free to FM. good luck!!!

ok, sounds like a plan. I just don't want to deal with insurance people again-they are not the brightest crayons in the box sometimes.

Re: Sono at 6-7 weeks?
I had my first sono at 7 weeks 2 days and we saw the heartbeat.
Are you having the sono done at the doctor's office? Sometimes those aren't counted for insurance purposes. I had more than three sonos done at my doctor's office and when I expressed concern over the numbers b/c of our insurance policy, the doctor told me that it is included as part of the office visit and it is the ultrasounds done at NSUH for the ultrascreen/level II etc. that are counted for insurance purposes.
I'm not sure if this is the case with you, but it can't hurt to ask!

I had all my sono's at the doctors office. I am sure that as long as they get 'authorization' for it, they can do as many as needed.
