Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
5'2
and I hate they way petite pants look on me- I prefer them to be longer- and come to the end of my shoe - mainly b/c that is the way most pants fit me
I tend to buy short lenght- which is 30" inseam vs petite that is 28" or 29"
but I don't mind spending the $10 to get a great pair hemmed- after all- good fitting pants are hard to find
suits are normally an issue for me- since I tend to need them in a rush- but bloomies will hem them overnight- 99% for no charge
Jeans are more of an issue for me- b/c my cleaners charged $20 to put the bottoms back on the jeans - and that is the only way I like them

I get petite but only certain stores. If I see a pair of pants that I like and they are regular then I get them hemmed.

I am 5'2" and I usually buy petite length or short length pants. Even then, the pants are sometimes too long. On a couple of occasions I have bought capri length pants and the length was perfect.

i prefer my pants on the longer side. rather than petite, i like the 'short' length that Banana Republic sells, but its only available online.

5'2
I will only buy petite pants at Banana Republic, Ann Taylor or NY & Co (actually these fit me the best). Everything else does not fit me right and I hate getting my pants hemmed and I have wide hips so if I find a brand I stick to it.

I am btwn 5'2" and 5'3". I wear American Eagle and Old Navy jeans. I buy them in the short or ankle length and they fit PERFECT for me. I prefer to wear them so them cover the top of my shoes, but do not drag along the back of my shoes and get all dirty and ripped

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I'm exactly 5'4 so if I buy petite, the hemline is almost always too short, so I just buy regular sizes, and spend the $ to get the pants hemmed, or wear really high heels to compensate

I can't wear petite pants. I have long legs even though I am short.

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I'm 5'4 and petites don't fit right for some reason. Even though I have length issues I'm not really petite. I'm short but I don't have a petite frame. If that makes any sense. I buy regular and have them hemmed. The petites are always too short in the crotch if that makes any sense? not sure if it's my imagination.

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I am a tad under 5'4." My proportions are such that I have long legs for my height. I cannot wear petite pants. I buy regular length pants but I usually need slight alterations, especially because I do not often wear heels. The tough part is that if I buy a pantsuit, it has to come as separates because I need a petite jacket and regular pants. It really looks terrible if I do not do it that way.

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
i'm 5' 3.5" i buy regular length pants & have them hemmed so they fall more to the longer style b/c i dont like much of a shoe to show i think longer is more fashionable b/c it elongates the leg
see how long the legs look in the 2nd picture

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I am 5'3" and it depends on the brand. Most of the time (for heels) regular length is OK. For flats I get short length... never petite though. Petite is cut weird for the rest of me.

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I'm about 5'3 I buy both petite and regular. Mostly regular because of my booty. If it comes in short, then I get that. I would say most of my pants fall like pic #1. I have such a hard time finding dress pants.

Re: Calling the Shorties - specifically 5'2" - 5'4"
I'm 5'2...usually I buy ankle/short fit becuase I like to wear jeans and flats or tuck my high boots into my jeans. I have a few pairs that I buy regular fit and for those I need to wear shoes with a heel.
