bottle warmer?
Is this necessary? Do you have to warm baby's bottle? My friend was saying that she was warming her kids' bottles, but then she wished she hadn't gotten them used to it because it was a pain when you were out and they woudlnt take a cold bottle. It's ok for them to have cold bottles right?

Re: bottle warmer?
I didn't put one down but ended up buying one after DD was born. This has been one of the best purhcases made. I give DD RTF so I heat it up otu of the fridge...not too warm enough to take out the chill. I love my bottle warmer and wouldnt' be able to live without it. Also when I go out DD drinks the powder formula not warm room temperature just fine. I heard you are not supposed to give a baby cold milk...not good for their tummy.

Re: bottle warmer?
We have never used a bottle warmer, but I do wish we had a small one for travel.. We warm them with warm water at home. And we try our best to warm them with our hands when we are out. I think it depends on how you do it in those first few months. I breastfeed and I think DS was used to body temp liquids. Whenever we tried to give him a bottle that wasn't really warmed, he refused it until it got to room temp.

Re: bottle warmer?
waste of money we got one and it took forever to heat it and by the time it heated the baby was hysterical. a word of advice get your child used to milk cold or with the chill out becuase my daughter who is 2 still wants her milk warm and its not so easy when you are out.

Re: bottle warmer?
I was warming the bottles up at first, with hot water, but when it was 3 in the morning and the baby is screaming for the bottle, I didn't bother anymore. I give it to him straight out of the fridge now and don't bother warming them at all since DS doesn't seem to care.

Re: bottle warmer?
I didn't register for one but one of my co-workers got me one for my work shower. I planned on giving my little one room temp bottles.

Re: bottle warmer?
I will use a mug of hot water at home, and I got a little travel bottle warmer for my diaper bag- I guess for just in case, but I can see that being a PITA anyway, waiting for it.

Didn't use with with either child. I use powder formula and just keep a kettle of water at room temperature.

Re: bottle warmer?
I plan to EBF so for me it wouldn't make much sense.
But regardless, I'd skip it. I've heard about fire hazards and have also heard they are more trouble then its worth.
