found a rottie today
On my way to work on the LIE service road. This guy was HUGE. I got over my car and slowley approached him, he just looked at me, no tail wagging. Then I went back to my car to give him some food - from my lunch - and he followed me. Then I turned around and this guy barked at me so loud I screamed. He didn't seem so friendly but I was really afraid he was going to get hit by a car. So this woman walks out of a house and she's like oh he belongs to the people in the back and gets in her car and drives away. Wouldn't you think she would be a little more concerned for her neighbor's dog? 
So the dog runs in the fenced yard and I closed it behind him. I was actually afraid to go onto his turf.
I guess in some ways it was stupid because this guy could have attacked me but I was so scared he would get hit by a car.

Was this by where you live? I would be afraid too with a large dog that I don't know....
Nice, some people treat their animals so horribly. THere you are giving him YOUR lunch when he was not homeless after all. Did he have tags oN?

It was about 10 minutes from me. He had a control chain but I didn't see any tags. I was torn between fear and guilt.

Thats scary and sad.
I would be scared when he barked at me too.
I have a big dog and people are scared of him but he is so friendly! He is a lover.

Although it could have been dangerous, I think you did the right thing. That dog could have been involved in an accident or worse, could have hurt someone.
It amazes me how some people have such little regard for their pet
