Numb/swollen hands?

Lately my hands/fingers have been getting really swollen and they hurt to close them. It happens on & off throughout the day. It is also SO annoying because they keep falling asleep/pins & needles feeling. It used to only be when I was sleeping, now I notice it more often. Anyone else have this problem? I am in my 7th month.

Re: Numb/swollen hands?

Try stretching your hands straight up in air .. you should feel the blood rushing around... and wiggle your fingers, a friend of mine told me to try this and so far it has worked. You may need to do this every like hour or so, I was doing it for a while and now I don't have to anymore cause it has gone away entirely.. good luck hope it works

I also had it at night and was told it was the start of Carpel Tunnel. Pregnancy can bring it on. I now wear carpel tunnel braces on both wrists and the numb feeling has gone away. I bought inexpensive ones at Rite Aid just in case it didnt work.

I've had numbness in my right hand fingertips for several weeks now (i'm in my 9th month) and someone else mentioned it may be due to Carpel Tunnel. Funny, it's not something that ever bothered me before the pregnancy -- but I hear it goes away shortly after birth.
