It is snowing in NC!!
I made a pro and con list before we decided to move and #1 on my pro list was no snow!
The weathermen (yes all men) have been lecturing to us for a week it was going to snow. After living in NY, I have learned to take them with a grain of salt...but they were right.

Arent they making a huge deal of it? Dh had a dentist appt this morning, and they called to cancel because of the snow...we have about a cm of snow on the ground and nothing on the roads at all

I was in NC last weekend and one of the biggest things I didn't like about it was the fact that it was 65 degrees in January. Good to know that it actually does snow sometimes in winter!

I guess it snows lightly every 3-5 years and every decade they have snow that sticks to the ground. 
ets: I like 65 in January much better than 16.

I lived in NC over 4 years and it snowed 2 or 3 times in that time period. Only once did we get any REAL accumulation.
We also had 2 very bad ice storms in that time. The weather is far milder than up north, but they aren't without snow and bad weather down there.
Don't worry - after this, you should be okay on the snow for another few years!

When I first moved down there, I brought snow with me, too! We had almost a foot my first winter. Things closed down for a WEEK!
Just stay off the roads... People down there, for the most part, are NOT good at driving int he snow!

They don't wear coats down here, even today. They put on really heavy sweaters with funky patterns. Something that should only be worn around christmas or at a ski resort.
