Re: How can I...

When we seed specific areas, we put up temporary plastic fencing around it to keep them off.

I would start getting her used to a new bathroom over the winter so she starts to wane in her attachment to that area now.

Re: How can I...

It basically comes down to training the dog to a new location. If you have a fenced in yard and you are still going to allow the dog in the yard, just not that area you will have to close off the area. If the dog will no longer use the yard then it is leash walking. Either way the dog may not get it right away and when she returns to home may urinate. It is confusing for them.

If it's the only real grassy area in your yard, you've got a tough battle...if there is another place your pup can go then fence off the area with the new grass and leave the other area open for her to use.

Or you could take her out on the leash to the area you want her to go to and train her that way...it would take a lot more patience and time to do it this way though.

This is always my problem.

Small amt of grass, so I have to walk them if I want the grass to stay nice. Right now it is not an issue but when the grass gets nicer, it is not a pretty sight.
