Re: did everyone do a living will or health care proxy??
We were planning on doing it after the baby is born. We were going to do the living will and our estate/will at once.

do you need to do a healthcare proxy if you are married...or is it just legally assumed your husband is your proxy? just curious if anybody knows?

Re: did everyone do a living will or health care proxy??
I do not having a living trust but with DS I had to fill out the health care proxy. I'm with a new doctor and hospital so I wonder if I will have to fill out again. If so, I would put it all in my husbands hands.

We are planning to do a will once she is born.
Now to decide on who to ask to care for her

I'm doing a Healthcare Proxy as soon as I get PG. If anything happens, I don't want my parents coming to the hospital and running the show and going over my husband's head.

It is automatically your husband as next of kin. However, please remember the Terri Schiavo case and how her mother and husband fought and fought and fought for ten years about what to do for her. A living will lets YOU be the one to decide before (DNR, etc) and it takes away that terrible responsibility from those around you should, god forbid, something happen to you during delivery.
