I'm going to an 80's party
Ugh and I don't know WHAT to wear. Could I get a sweater dress so at least I can reuse it? Is that even from the 80s???? I dont want to buy something I wont wear again. and I don't have anything old that will work.

Yes if you use some big belt to wrap around the waist. You can try payless (cheap enough) for some ugly ankle boots and Party city or a store like that may have some loud neon tights. Get some rubber black bracelets and tie a headband around your hair (Think Madonna early 80's).

that would be so easy now that the trends are back!
take a long-length fitted t-shirt and cut the neck out - so it falls off your shoulder
buckle a patent leather belt around your waist
wear some leggings
get some bright colored pumps (like fuschia or yellow or royal blue)
rock a high side ponytail
that's it!

If you wear a sweater dress you must do a side ponytail with crimped bangs,and dont forget your le sports sac bag and electric pink lipgloss!! have fun

side pony w/ scrunchie
something off the shoulder
crazy colored leggings
colored pumps or colored sneakers if you have with scrunched socks

you can if you add the right accessories.
How about a hot pink belt and pink heels. large hoop pink earrings (or anything neon colorful) and wear your hair up in a side ponytail with a huge scrungie

Purple leggings with leggwarmers and a yellow long top with flats or ankle boots. They selll different color leggins at Target. This is kind of like the cindy lopper old Madonna look. If you catch my drift.

ITA! And cut the top of the sweater so that it hangs off of one shoulder, just like in Flashdance!  Have fun!
ETA: Also get those plastic bangled bracelets and wear 30 of them on one arm.

I threw myself an 80s birthday party...
I actually got great stuff at some thrift stores.
Hideous, yet perfect stuff!
Lots of old school styles are "back" in certain ways, so you can definitely find stuff to work with in the stores!

OMG I can't believe I wish I still had my aqua legwarmers. And my permed hair and friendship pins on my Reeboks w/2 different neon colored laces. I am scared! This should be fun :) Thanks for all the great suggestions!

Also blue eyeshadow and neon colored tights. Or black tights with neon colored pumps.
Some big plastic earing if you can find them and a lot of bracelets.

I went as a 80's guidette girl for Halloween one year and found old clothes from my closet to work (or check out thrift stores - done that before for theme parties). I relived my youth.
I wore a black mini skirt, a pink cropped tee (pre-baby when I could sport a belly shirt) under a black cardigan, black stockings with 2 pairs of slouchy socks and white sneakers. I bought some pale pink lipstick, pale pink nail polish, held a big black bag, huge hair and long dangly rhinestone earrings. It was a huge hit!
