Spinoff: Is there something that you're glad you saved?
There's lots that I'm glad I saved, but one thing made me smile on my wedding day....
Our first "official" date was Rich's senior prom. (almost 8 yrs ago!) I wore this cheapo silver and fake blue stone necklace because it matched my dress.... he made a huge deal how much he loved that necklace. He even asked several times why I didn't wear it more often!
Soooo I saved and saved and saved that $5 Claire's Piece of Junk - I had my florist attach it to my BoK on my wedding day....and wouldn't you know...he NOTICED it!

That is a great story Nic!
I am glad that I saved this card that my husband bought for me when we first started dating. Even now, 14 years later, it can make me teary eyed.

i have these stupid boxers that FH gave me for our first Valentine's day. We were 15 and dating for one month. They say "LOVE MACHINE" on them and I hid them for YEARS from my mother and I would wear them to his house only LOL I still have them and they make me giggle every time I see them!

how about something dh saved?
a couple of months after we started dating, i went on a vacation with the girls to Acapulco. as a souvenir, i brought a pair of nice silver cufflinks for him.
over the last 6 1/2 years of us dating, he never had a reason to wear them.
i honestly forgot about them.
he surprised me and wore them on our wedding day!

Re: Spinoff: Is there something that you're glad you saved?
My father traveled frequently on business when I was a child - all over the world. When I was maybe 2 or 3, he brought me back this GIANT doll (well, to me at the time it was giant) from England. She was bigger than I was at that time -- and soft sort of like Ragedy Ann. I loved it immediately and for basically my entire childhood, I talked to the doll every day. My mom said no matter what we did or where we went, when we got back, I'd run to my room to tell Tootsie (who I named after Tootsie rolls!)
20-some-odd years later, she still sits in a tiny wicker rocking chair in my bedroom. I couldn't ever bear to get rid of her... and generally, I hate dolls... but I've always loved this one!

my mom had this figuring of a little china girl crying. I was always a cry baby when i was a kid and she liked it because of that ( i guess not much has changed)..she saved it and gave it to me when we bought our house. She said, the cry baby should be yours now.

i have a bunch of things, but the first thing that popped into my head when i read your question was something my DH (the most unromantic dude in the whole world) saved. A few months ago, i was looking at the pics in his phone from a concert we went to... i started looking through all his pics and realized that he had a pic saved that he took of me and my dad dancing on our wedding day... Even after almost 3 years, it still felt like a nice wedding surprise.

My wedding bouquet. I have it preserved and hung over my bed in a shadowbox, and every time I see it I think of my wedding day.

Re: Spinoff: Is there something that you're glad you saved?
i have silly things that remind me of my friend that passed away - he worked on my car once, for HOURS, installing new speakers - it took forever and on accident he left a screwdriver in my car once he was done - it stayed in there for a few months b/c i kept forgetting to give it back - then, he passed away and i found myself carrying it around with me -- so silly but to me it was just something so worthless that all of a sudden meant something. i have a few things from him that are like that - so i keep them in a little box. the screwdriver is special though - you can usually find it in my purse or in the glove compartment of my car - at all times.
