Is their something that you have lost
over the years that you wish you could find again? something of value, either $ or sentimental
for me, it would be 2 cassettes my parents used to have. one was of them telling the story of the 3 little pigs to my sister when she was a baby, and the other was of me narrating to my mom how I was bringing my 8 children to the doctor ( i was about 3 years old) and making my dad pretend he was my husband!

Re: Is their something that you have lost
two things ( sorry )
my mom bought me my first "adult" jewelry when i turned 16 - it was a gold bracelet. i wore it for senior pictures and lost it that day. . . i was crying so hard that my principal almost put the school on lock down and let me sit in the office and drink tea all day
Also, I went to Italy when I was about 7 years old. My great aunt got me this plastic red bracelet - it was the stupidest cheapest thing and I would NOT take it off the entire time I was there - I even wore it to a formal event! I have no idea where it ended up but I think about it from time to time!

Re: Is their something that you have lost
my wedding band and my engagement ring.
I can get new rings, but the moments those items represented can never be replaced. I don't even care about the money aspect.
also, coincidentally, my wedding day earrings. I lent them to a very responsible friend who lost one while we were in ITaly. she NEVER loses anything...it was just a freak accident...so weird.
I guess I should be lucky I somehow managed to hang on to my husband.
I items you describe sound beautiful

Re: Is their something that you have lost
When I graduated from HS, my mother gave me this gold medallion charm that had a girl in a cap and gown with some gem stones in it. My grandmother gave it to her when she graduated HS. She wanted to begin a tradition of handing it down. Shortly after I graduated, our house got broken into and that was one of the things taken.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
It wasn't lost, but was stolen when my parents house was robbed. It was my grandmothers "K" ring in gold and diamonds. I was the only one with a "K" initial so I of course got the ring. I wish I still had it

Re: Is their something that you have lost
1 thing I lost before I ever had it -- For my sweet sixteen, my aunt gave me a "16" charm that her mother gave her on her 16th birthday. (I never knew this grandmother.) She brought it to the party at the country club, but it never made it home with the rest of my gifts. It basically disappeared. No one could find it. I HATE to think someone stole a present (especially one worth so little $-wise, but had so much sentimental value). No one at the club ever found it and my aunt never found it. It's something I'd have LOVED to have had.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
I don't know if anyone remembers these, but my grandmother use to do "Hook Rugs". Before i was born she had a stroke and would do these with one hand, almost like therapy. She made one for me with 2 puppies on it when I was about 10 yrs old. And somehow or another it was misplaced in one of our many moves. She passed away when I was 13. It's not something I would have hung up but it's something that was very special to me.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
DH gave me a necklace for our first Christmas together when we were 16 years old. It was a sterling silver charm of a moon & a star. He bought it for me because he knew how much I loved celestial patterns. I was cleaning up one day & I was in an angry mood & I was just throwing away empty jewlery boxes & old knick-knacks & I accidentally threw out the box with the necklace in it.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
The necklace I wore on my wedding day. It was a diamond that was given to me by my paternal Grandmother who died when I was 8. I had it made into a necklace to wear when I got married. I am still so upset that it is gone. I am convinced it got stolen when we first moved in since I never have lost any jewerly like that before

Re: Is their something that you have lost
A pearl earring that my great grandmother gave me when I was young.
An envelope filled with very old photos of my family that I was planning on framing for a wall in my livingroom. I swear it walked away by itself.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
Technically the item I miss was thrown out (thanks mom! ) but when I was in high school I went thru this phase where I wrote tons of poetry in a notebook. It was really detailed and encompassed things I didn't even know I could feel. I treasured that book more than anything. Now that I'm in a different, Better place in my life, I'd love to have that book to look back and see how far I've come and take some time to remember things I haven't felt in years.

Re: Is their something that you have lost
I don't lose ANYTHING, so you can just imagine how crushed i was when I lost the first piece of jewelry Rich ever bought me. It was a hugs and kisses bracelet and I wore it on prom night... the photog made me switch my corsage from my right hand to my left for our formal pic, and I'm assuming that's when the bracelet fell off. I searched the limo, Crest Hollow, where we took pics, EVERYWHERE....never found it
