I need to find a new home for Roxy

I found out today that DD has class 4 allergy to dog and we need to find her a new home.
How do I go about it?
She is a 5.5 year old female Boxer that is very well behaved and great around all age groups including children (she can be a little routy because she likes to jump when she gets excited but still a great dog). She is on the smaller size for a Boxer (I am guessing 45-50lbs).

Can you tell us more about her? Habits, health, personality, etc.

My brother really wants a boxer so badly....I would like to know more before I pass it on to him.

She is a mush (which diana1215 can vouch for). Very friendly, doesn't bark, kinda a scardy cat, housebroken, playful with other dogs. She walks well on a leash, was fixed. She doesn't have any health problems that we know of (haven't been back to vet since she was 1). She also has never bitten anyone. You can take food right out of her mouth and she doesn't flinch.

Can I ask you this also? Is your DD having a reaction? The only thing is my brother's wife does have slight allergies, but they don't know if it would be to a dog. That is the only reason they do not have a dog yet.

Also does she like to have a yard? Will she go the bathroom in the yard if she is not walked? Can you tell me more about her with walks, such as needs x amt of walks a day, for how long? Does she prefer to go to the bathroom on a walk or in a yard?

She is gorgeous and this must be heartbreaking.

My dd has pretty bad eczema and I knew eczema is a form of an allergic reaction. It was getting worse so our pediadtrian had bloodwork done to figure out the cause so that is how we know. We also found out she has a mild allergy to cats and cows. Ontop of food allergies. If they are unsure if you SIL is allergic then I would suggest to her going to her Dr. and having a pet allergy test done. Then go from their.

As far as your questions are concerned she does really well in any enviroment. When we first got her she was crate in a crate because DH lived in an apartment and the tenants below him would complain so she couldn't be loose. Then when we moved into our first home we had a yard but it wasn't fenced it but we did live across the street from a preserve so we continued to walk her (short ones but she was on a retractable leash and since is was open land we would let her run around for a few minutes). Now that we moved again we have a fenced in yard I let her out in the moring and at night. She doesn't know how to tell you she needs to go out so you just let her out. In the summer she will do a few laps in the yard and then just sit in the shade. She doesn't really like to be outside but she will stay out. She doesn't stay out if it is too hot and humid and if it is below degree's. She will go to the bathroom right away or with the command "hurry". We used that when we walked her and the trainer we had suggested we have a word to make her go.

She hasn't had them. I never really felt the need for rabies since she was always inside and only out to go to the bathroom.

regardless of how I feel about that issue, I think you need to make sure that you tell any potential adopters this. I hope she finds a great home Chat Icon
