How do I find out about vandalisms in my area?
while DH and I were away on vacation, there were some car vandalisms where we live - 15 cars in 1 night.
I cannot find anything about it on newsday.com, news12li.com or on the Suffolk police website.
some neighbors near us are all up in arms about this and they're having a meeting about it tomorrow.

Was it in the Lindenhurst Train station parking lot? That's where DH got his flat tire from and his window scraped up. The town basically said there is nothing they can do.

DH and I both had our cars keyed in the past few months in addition to probably 10 other cars on our block. GUess there is some sort of spree.

We've had this happen in our neighborhood (Holbrook). The window in one of our cars was smashed one night along quite a few others. You can call your local police precinct, but, these things rarely get solved unless someone actually happens to see it. Just some dumba$$es with time on their hands and nothing else to do. Morons.

Newsday might have blotters you can view for a particular area.

Try to find a link for a local newspaper for your town. Or go buy one in the store, they usually have recent crimes listed.
For ex, here is a link to a Smithtown paper that posts police blotter info.
smithtown times scroll to page 4 where it says Police report.
And here is a link to one from Newsday for Huntington towns.

Is this sort of what you are looking for?
Maybe from seeing those you can somehow find something similar for your town?
I found these by googling and just searching the net.
