Its a film, its not real. Its all part of the cinematic experience, if you bought into the dog dying in the story, they did a good job!!!
I agree. Yes the dog dying was sad, but they needed to do that to get our attention.
DH and I saw it tonight and we really liked it. There were some parts they left out, but overall it was very entertaining... I couldn't sit still! Will Smith was amazing too.
