starting IVF
spotting has started so it looks like we will be starting our IVF cycle. I start BCP on cd 3 for 3 weeks then menapur and possibly ganirelex for stimming. can anyone that has done IVF fill me in on menapur, ganirelex, and progesterone IM shot. what can I expect from the 3 injections?

Re: starting IVF
First of all best of luck to you - I wasnt on menapur or ganirelex, but I can say that overall the injections were a lot easier than I expected them to be.
With my stims, they were all easy to give, I did them myself. Some of them stung a little, but nothing awful. The PIO really didnt hurt when my husband gave them to me, but I do apply a hot cloth afterwards, because if I dont I get sore at the injection site.
Good luck as you start on this crazy journey.

Re: starting IVF
I did Menopur and Bravelle for stims and they were really not bad at all. I also did the subcuteneaus (stomach) injections myself. I found it easier that way because you are usually doing injections twice a day and it's hard to schedule that with my DH. The PIO shots I had DH do. I would warm the oil (in the bottle) in hot water in the sink before doing the injection...then put a warm cloth on the area afterwards.

is the menopur like follistim. I've done 3 injectible cycles using follistim.
