There are 15 to 20 minute delays on the Main Line through New Hyde Park as a result of a train striking an unauthorized person on the tracks at New Hyde Park. This affects Huntington, Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay Branch trains. Dec-23-2007 10:01:04PM

I wasn't really referring to the delays. More about what I assume is a suicide. It's a bad time of year for some people & it's worse for the guys driving the trains.

i knew what you ment... and yes it is sad... what i ment was i would not want to be on the trains when something like that happens... also i had a cousin who was on the Colin Ferguson train and was hit by a bullet

i was just on a train coming in from penn and i was on the train at 9:16 and we didnt get until 11:20. i was a mess i saw the scene it was so sad

aww, that's horrible. it is sad at any time of the year but especially upsetting during christmas - it makes you wonder what made him/her want to end their life so badly. and it makes you think about all of their loved ones who will be getting this awful news on, most likely, christmas eve - and year after year now christmas will never be the same for them - assuming they celebrate it but even if they don't - this time of year in general - all the holidays - it's sad. MIL's good friend just lost her son and they buried him yesterday - it's such a shame and especially now.
