Marley may have an eye infection - I am very nervous

Marley woke up this morning and her eye was shut closed with eye boogers. I used a warm, wet towel to remove the boogers, one which appeared yellow. She seems to be acting normally (eating, pooping, playing) but her eye is very red and glassy. I shined a light in it and she did not seem to flinch, so I do not think she is in pain. I called the vet (who is closed today) and the vet told me to take her to the emergency room. I was going to watch and see if it got better during the day.

Has anyone's dog ever had an irritated eye before? Any thoughts what to do?

I would take her to an emergency hospital...but then again, I tend to err on the side of caution.
There is a great one in Bohemia called Atlantic Coast.

put some saline solution in and go to the vet tomorrow. My puggie gets them all the time.

If your vet is recommending the emergency room, then I would go. FM if you need any recommendations.

I would not put anything on the eye, take to vet.

I brought her to the vet first thing this morning. I'll let you know how she is once I hear back from the vet!!
