Spinoff to Kevin's curb rights
Our next door neighbor is super nice, but I think maybe a little crazy, or maybe just SO OCD that she seems crazy.
A few weeks ago, she had her bags of leaves all piled up in front of our house. She has the same amount of curb space as us (only about 80 feet). The bags were there for days. It annoyed me. Here's why I think she did this: Her boyfriend has teh world's largest truck ever, and parks it in front of her house (she has a 1 car driveway, we have a 2). BUT she could have easily put the bags on her lawn at the edge of her property! But she is OCD. It annoyed me, though we would never say anything about it. But it is a bit rude, no? We're talking 20 bags here.

Re: Spinoff to Kevin's curb rights
I think that's rude. And I am pretty sure it's a violation - I can't imagine any town would allow garbage of any kind to be placed at the curb for so long.

Re: Spinoff to Kevin's curb rights
Right?!?!?!? That bothers me even more- we live in a VILLAGE- they will ticket you for EVERYTHING! So I wonder, did she leave it there bc she wanted it out but didn't want a ticket? Or bc she is too OCD to leave them on her grass? She really is so nice, but every now and then, she's nuts.

Are you sure she put the bags on your curb and not the landscaper maybe?
if it was def her, I'd be nasty enough to move them myself back to her side.

20 BAGS of leaves.
you should open the bags on her lawn and jump in them.
that would be fun.

She's actually not old. But I like where you're heading...
Good point about the landscaper- I bet he did it- we have th esame landscaper, and we told him we didn't need him for leaf cleanup- I bet he was bitter.... Wait this leads me to another question. Husband paid said landscaper for last 2 weeks of cuts (which we didn't even need, we just forgot to cancel). He gave landscaper guy a check for $50, made out to "cash". Well, a week or so later, landscaper fella is at my door, while DH is in the land of nod, and asks- can your husband write another check- I lost his. I had no idea it wa smade out to cash, so I said no problem! What an idiot. Hmmm- I lost the $50 bill you gave me, can I have another?

Re: Spinoff to Kevin's curb rights
Our landlord pays the landscapers to do leaf clean-up, and they take the leaves, so I can't relate 100% but....
As nice as your neighbor may be, I'd be willing to bet my husband would have knocked on her door and told her to move her bags of leaves to the front of her house, especially if it's something we could get fined for by the village.
Me, I'd be too chicken to say anything.

Yeah, I would move them back. When I lived in ozone Park, we were by Pathmark and the neighbors used to take home the shopping carts and unload the groceries and push the cart in front of our house! I would hear them coming with the cart and run outside and give it one big push so it crashed into their fence in front of their house

Re: Spinoff to Kevin's curb rights
Oh yeah...that would PIZZ me off. I HATE when neighbors put their trash over the line to my house. Keep your trash in front of your own house. One of our neighbors always puts his garbage bins over his property line onto our part of the sidewalk and it's so infuriating. And I'm not the only one. DH gets pizzed too. One time he got so mad he crused the garbage bin with his truck.
