Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
Most of the time I'm with my family at my sister's house with take-out and games. David usually has a gig that night so I'm by myself.

Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
Dh hates to drive on NYE so we stay in and have appetizers for dinner with his favorite chocolate chip cheesecake for dessert. Last year I was pg and went top bed long before the ball dropped

Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
Different things
- a private party in a Manhattan townhouse (eh, we didn't know that many people there)
-a few times in a movie theater (late show!)
-yoga NYE meditation (weird)
This year, if DH isn't working , I want to do fondue at home.
....Next day, early morning, walking around the city. Quietest morning of the year in Manhattan!

Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
we used to do the catering hall thing. then we went away a couple of times. last year was pretty low key - just dinner w/friends and then back to our house to watch the ball drop. i have no idea what we'll do this year. probably go out to dinner just teh two of us.

We don't have a usual thing. I guess in the past, someone always had a party. Once we stayed in. Last year, we went away with a few other couples and their children. This year, we don't have anything going on and I'm secretly hoping nothing comes up!

Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
$100 in NYC for food and drink is almost unheard of! Great deal!

Re: How do you usually spend NYE?
After a bartender called me a c*nt for asking for a drink and I broke my wine glass over his head, I like to keep it low key Especially now that we have DD...we'll prob just stay home this year.

Long story kind of short...was at a club in NYC for NYE about 4 years ago now. I stood patiently at the bar (I had tipped the bartender well all night)...it was VERY busy. I stood there for a good 10 minutes and suddenly these two chicks that the bartender knew walked up and he was so happy to see them and he served them right away. I said, "just so you know I've been standing here for 10 min"...he gives me a dirty look and says "you have nothing to say" (whatever that meant). I gave my friends a puzzled look and continued to stand there and waited another 5 min. He came down to my side of the bar again and I said (not meanly...just stated it)..."I;ve been waiting here a long time" and he goes "shutup you f*cking c*nt". I was so angry and I just reacted and took my wine glass and broke it on his head. After I did it I just stood there in shock and my friend was like "dude, get the hell out of here"....so they shut down the back bar and security searched for me for like 30 minutes. I disguised myself by using an eyeliner pencil to put my hair up and started talking to these random guys. Anyway, my good old BIL ratted me out when we walked up to me with a manager and told me that DH had been kicked out. At that point I "surrendered".
sidenote: after I had walked away from the bar the bartender lunged at DH and punched him. A bouncer held DH down as DH tried to defend himself and then they kicked DH out! Anyway, after BIL told me DH got kicked out I "surrendered" and went outside where NYPD was questioning DH. For some reason they never spoke to me...I just stayed quiet like a little mouse and we went to another bar. I was sad to leave all my friends inside though. I don't even regret it happening...that dude was crazy and he deserved it. Some guys need to learn the hard way never to use the C word! That bartender was just ****** he was working on NYE. Anyway, that was enough drama for me for a long time. I don't usually act like that, but it was an extinuating circumstance.
Hopefully my story makes all of you who have been mistreated by a bartender a little satisfied
