Should I go to the doctor?
I posted the other day that my cycle has been really irregular. I usually get AF on day 30-33. Last month it didn't come until day 39, and I haven't gotten it yet this month. Today is day 39. We are not actively TTC, but we plan on starting in the summer. I'm so worried something is wrong. I took a PG test Monday and it was BFN. The news had a whole report about people who work overnights, and how it messes up their Biological clock, and how the night shift may cause a higher change of getting certain cancers. Well, of course I work overnights and I'm getting worried it is messing up my body. Should I make an appointment, or should I wait till January for my yearly. THanks!!

Re: Should I go to the doctor?
Go asap...you could have any number of things (most likely PCOS), but start now to get tested and find out what you are going to need to do.

What exactly is PCOS? I'm going to wait until Monday to see if AF shows up, then I will call the doctor.

Re: Should I go to the doctor?
It doesn't sound like your schedule is THAT irregular. Were you on the pill? Did you always get your period like clockwork? My period is more irregular than that and my doc tested me for all sorts of things as a precaution and I didn't have PCOS or anything.
If it were me, I would just wait til January if that is when you were planning on having your annual. No reason to stress yourself out more and get worked up-- which can also delay your period.

Well, I looked up the symptoms of PCOS. The only symptom I have is irregular AF. I have never missed a month though. I also just had a sonogram of my ovaries and the doctor said they looked good. I'm not sure if I definitely ovulate every month, but I get the pain in my side every month. Maybe I will wait until January!

Just so you know and I'm sure you can look this up online, many people do noty have the traditional symptoms of PCOS and they still have it. You really do need a glucose tolerance test..GL
