Re: Do you have an EZ Pass?

We don't. We had one and then got rid of it when we hadn't used it in 2 years but were getting charged $12 a year to have it. I know it's not a lot of money but it was the principle of just giving my money away for absolutely no service what-so-ever.

Nope. We don't really travel enough to NEED one, but I really want one. It would make the times we do travel a lot easier.

It makes it worth the $12 yearly fee.

I thought they did away with that fee?? I don't think I am billed that anymore, although I really should check since I don't get paper statements.

I'll have to check - that would be great if there's no fee! Chat Icon

Re: Do you have an EZ Pass?

I live in Texas and I have an EZ Pass. I bring it with me whenever I come to NY. We usually stay in NJ and then travel into the city, so it is SO much easier to have the pass instead of waiting in the cash line. It is totally worth it.

How often do you use it?

Is it necessary if you travel and use the bridges just a few times a year? I am thinking it's good just to save aggrivation, but don't know too much about it.

Get one, it is so worth it. We probably use ours only 3 or 4 times a year. It has made life so much easier for us getting on and off this island. DO IT!!!!

Re: Do you have an EZ Pass?

We have one. No annual fee. We don't use it very often, but when we do, it's great to have. The EZ-Pass lines are shorter, and we often caravan with other PT-Cruisers to go to an OOS event, and it's nice being able to just all buzz through a toll booth without getting separated.

Also, some highways have the high-speed EZ-Pass, where you can go through the "toll booth" at 50-60 MPH, instead of having to stop at the cash booth. Big time savings there.

Wow...so I guess we're getting one! Is there still a $12 fee? I didn't see one on their site.

Re: Do you have an EZ Pass?

it's worth it even if you dont' use it that often. what happens is that its linked to a credit card. the credit card is charged an initial amount of $30.00. if it takes you a year to spend the $30.00 through tolls, that's fine. when the amount is depleted, the credit card is charged again for the same amount.

Hope this makes sense... it's definitely worth it my opinion. you sit in a LOT less traffic with it and save a little bit (i 50 cents or a dollar depending) on each toll or bridge.
