Luteal Phase
OK, so last month, it was our first month trying, and I used OPK's. I got a positive on day 16 and 17 of my cycle. I'm pretty sure I O'd on day 17. I have a 27 day cycle on the dot which means my Luteal phase is only 9-10 days...which I've read is on the short side... I know you can take certain vitamins and Progesterone to make it longer...here is my question though...is it really a problem, are there women out there that have had short Luteal phases and conceived, I feel like I've never heard about it before, and it may be a smaller problem than it really is....
Please, I hope I didn't offend anyone in anyway, I'm just trying to find out if I should be worried???

Re: Luteal Phase
I don't believe the issue is conceiving with a short LP...it's keeping the pregnancy that is the issue.
I would make an appt with your Dr to go over you charts (if you aren't doing so already, I would start) and see what your options are if you do indeed have a short LP.

Re: Luteal Phase
i have an LP that's on the short side. i have read (on this board and other places) that the B6 vitamin can help extend your LP by a few days, but it's best taken in a B-complex vitamin. i started taking it this month so we will see!

Re: Luteal Phase
Last month was my first month off BCP and I noticed, like you, that I most likely have a short luteal phase of about 10 days. From the research I've done it, I agree with Colleen - the issue isn't conceiving, it's staying PG. The short luteal phase is an indication of progesterone deficiency, which, apparently, is easily remedied either by progesterone supplements, creams or vitamins. But then again, I haven't been to the doctor about it.

Re: Luteal Phase
Thanks ladies! I also read on the ovusoft forum of a lot of women taking Vitamin C and it helped them miraculously...so I started taking that now. I'm going to give it a month or two more and see what happens and take it from there.

Vitamin C, huh? That's interesting b/c my LP is typically 11/12 days. Last month I had a cold so I was taking vitamin c and my LP was 14 days. Talk about playing tricks with your mind, though, cause I thought I was late!

Re: Luteal Phase
I take a B complex to lengthen my LP. The first month I started taking it went from 9 to 12 days.
