Those with PCOS
Can you tell me what your symptoms were? How did you know that you had PCOS? And how did your doctor diagnose you? I'm being to think that I may have this condition....
Also, how hard is it to TTC with this condition?

Re: Those with PCOS
It was because of the ladies on the IF board that I started to question whether I had PCOS or not.
I've had irregular cycles for years. After being on BCP for 8 years, I came off and started tracking my cycles. The length of time between cycles became longer and longer as time went on. Then, I had posted a random question about some dark hairs I had noticed growing on my chin. I didn't realize that was a symptom of PCOS. I went to my GYN, was tested, and found out that I have it.
I think TTC is different for each person with PCOS. For me, I don't ovulate on my own, which will make TTC on my own nearly impossible. However, many women w/ PCOS are able to ovulate naturally, so that will obviously make things a bit easier.
All in all, PCOS can be diagnosed with a blood test and an ultrasound. Best of luck to you.

Re: Those with PCOS
Thank you soooo much for your response. Yes, the internet can be a great resource, but it can drive you crazy too! Prior to being on BCP, I was NEVER regular (I was also a teenager at the time). This is my first cycle off the pill, and I am almost at CD40 with no sign of AF in sight.
I too get dark chin hairs (occasionally) but didn't realize that could be a symptom. I also read that skin tags are common as well (and I do have a lot of those all over my body). I guess I should make an appointment with my OBGYN to address the issue. Is it something easily diagnosed with a blood test and ultrasound??

Re: Those with PCOS
I had the above...plus I gain weight like a guy in my belly area instead of around hips like a female. Also, I took the blood test - and a glucose tolerance test - never took the ultrasound. I took a glucose tolerance test and it came up with my glucose levels being fine but my insulin out of wack which is what pcos is.
