Shih-Tzu
Please share thoughts, experiences, pictures.
I am thinking of getting my mom one as her dog is getting old and I fear for the day that the dog passes. my mom is going to lose it so I am thinking of breeds to get her. She has a cockerpoo now.
ETA: Recommend a breeder too if you know one. Thanks!

Re: Shih-Tzu
Molly was a shih-tzu/maltese and Abby is a shih-tzu/yorkie. I have to say - I love both dogs. They don't shed. Both just want(ed) love.
Molly had some issues but I don't think it was because of her breed at all (she had a messed up spaying)
They are playful - but yet, since they are little dogs they get tired after one round in the backyard.
They just love to be cuddled really!
I say go for it!

Re: Shih-Tzu
I love my little girl, they are such good dogs. I agree with everything Diana said. They do not require a lot of exercise. They are loving dogs, very smart, I think your parents would be very happy with one.

Re: Shih-Tzu
You can see my Shih Tzu son, Chewbacca to the left. He is the best dog! He is not aggressive at all for a boy.
He is loving, and playful. He is in his terrible two's right now. But we went through all the training classes at Petsmart and it was a breeze.
He was eating and chewing a lot of things when he was a puppy. But all dogs do.
They are very affectionate dogs, I would deinitely recommend them. I want to get more myself!

The Breeder that we used
Good temperament, good with children, alarms when strangers are near and kisses them as they walk in

Re: Shih-Tzu
No shedding...it's hair not fur..i'm allergic and i'm fine with er. Do have to get her groomed every 4-5 weeks though because her hair grows faster than mine.
