Those who had their HCG measured...

Was it exactly where it should be? I got my bloodwork back. The day they took the blood work last week I was 4 weeks and 5 days and the HCG level was 102 which is the range for 2 1/2 weeks. That worries me. I know my exact ovulation date, so it can't just be off on the dates. They want me to come in tomorrow for another blood test to see if the numbers are doubling. I have a bad feeling now.Chat Icon

They didn't tell me my numbers so I can't help you there. Just best wishes and hugs. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Those who had their HCG measured...

Key things to remember about hCG levels:

* In a bout 85% of normal pregnancies, the hCG level will double every 48 - 72 hours. As you get further along in pregnancy and the hCG level gets higher, the time it takes to double can increase to about every 96 hours.
* Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers.

Guideline to hCG levels during pregnancy:

hCG levels in weeks from LMP (gestational age)* :

* 3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
* 4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
* 5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
* 6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
* 7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
* 9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
* 13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
* 17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
* 25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml

Thank you SO much for posting this. I'm trying to stay positive, but with a past miscarriage it's so hard. Will my levels show doubling by getting another blood test a whole week later?

Re: Those who had their HCG measured...

I think you are confused. At 2-2.5 weeks pregnant(the way Dr's measure it you would have "maybe" 50. The date of pregnancy is counted from teh firstd day of your last period. You are fine iwth that #. Are yuou spotting or bleeding? cramping? If not and even if so you are probably FINE.

HCG Levels-at 28 days some people have a level of 3!
