Waterproofing the Uggs
Is it necessary to waterproof Uggs?
I am gong away this weekend and it's supposed to be cold and rainy, but I wanted to wear them.
Would I have to waterproof them?
Where can I buy it? Will any waterproofing stuff work?
Thanks

Re: Waterproofing the Uggs
I highly suggest you waterproof your uggs before wearing them in the snow or rain. I bought a water repellant spray at the shoe store where I bought my uggs. I assume most shoe stores carry this. I wear my sand colored uggs in the rain and snow all the time. They're still in great condition.

I don't have Uggs, but my guess would be that you could use a suede & nubuck protecting spray.
I have one for my suede jacket. I bought it in a drugstore, by the shoe polish.

Re: Waterproofing the Uggs
I waterproofed mine w/ the UGG spray I bought on Zappos. I wore them in the rain the other day and no harm was done.

did you guys get the conditioner too? it says on zappos.com "for best results" to condition them before waterproofing them. is it necessary to condition them first? or did you guys just get the waterproofer and thats all?

I just used the waterproofing spray before I ever wore them.

Re: Waterproofing the Uggs
I just got my first pair last weekend and waterproofed them with scotchguard - the type for suede and such - you have to test it to see if the color comes off (mine are black). Anyhoo...it didn't come off and for some reason the shoes almost look better. I'm sure its in my head but we shall see how they fare in the winter weather.
I still wouldn't walk around with tons of snow...but you never know when you get caught.
