Brief Freddy Bulliten
If he comes home this Friday or next the wheels are already turning. A visiting nurse is all set up to come to the house a few times a week. PT, OT and ST (therapists) are all set to come a few times a week as well. Their initial assessment will dictate how many times a week they come. I imagine it will be at least 3x.
He also gets a home health care aide to help him with the normal activities of daily living; dressing, bathing..even though he does most of this all by himself. It's mostly the adjustment of being home.
United Healthcare has approved it all and the case worker at St. Johnland has arranged everything.
Fred is happy he's coming home. We went out all weekend and shopped for a bed, his linens..etc..
We are coming to the end of a long road. He has much more to go, but now it will be home with us. It won't be easy, but hopefully, it will put him on the road to independence eventually.
Not so brief afterall..
