spinoff - do you keep money in your car?
i never do, it's always in my wallet, but DH does sometimes - although even then it's only a few dollars and some change.
i have heard of people keeping $$ in their cars though... what would be the thinking behind that? not judging, just curious.

Having lived in Queens most my life and parking on the street, I leave NOTHING of any value in my car as a habit (even now in the driveway in a relatively secluded area).

when I was in high school I accidentally left the valet key in my console, I was tired and coming hoe from having my car at the mechanics, the car was on E but I decided not to stop because I was exhausted. The next moring I went out to go to school and all of my change was gone, but the gas tank was half full! Apparent;y some kid took my car joy riding and used my spare change to fill the tank. Saved me a trip to the gas station!

I keep change in the car & a few dollars. Most of the time DH & I don't carry cash, just our bank cards/credit cards, so we use the $ for coffee/etc. I also keep a $20 hidden in my glove for emergencies.

I have kept $10-20 in the glove compartment for emergencies. I have left the house on more than one occasion without my wallet and didn't realize it until much later.

Sometimes I'll keep singles or a 10 in the ashtray for tolls or emergency gas money or something. But I close the door of the ashtray so you can't see it.

I keep a spare cc in the car. I cant tell you how many times I was caught without any cash on credit cards and needed to purchase something. Also I try to leave five dollars in case I break down and/or need a tow. Again someone changed my tire and I had no money to offer.

i am still driving my very first car - when i got it everyone threw singles in there and some people threw in some fives. . .i still have those bills in my car - i think it comes out to like $50 - i have never used it but its just good to have an emergency fund!!

wow.....I completly forgot I have money tied to my visor also........
I guess I'm really bad b/c I leave a few bucks in there "just incase".......
