It appears that the travel system I registered for is discontinued (or at the very least getting ready to be discontinued and is out of stock at the BRU in Commack). My shower is on Sunday. Should I try to pick a replacement, or keep my fingers crossed that someone will pick it up from one of the other BRU stores???

If you really want it, pick it up and if someone gets it for you, return one.

And you're sure no one bought it? I'd change it online right now since no one bought it yet, if you know what you want.

I would change it. If something breaks, or you lose a piece you wont be able to find it later if its discontinued,and have to buy a new stroller.

i had the EXACT same thing happen to me. about 2 weeks before my shower, my graco travel system was discontinued....one of my friends broke the news bc they didn't want me NOT to get the stroller. anyway, i ended up telling my mom and since she knew that my grandmother was buying it for me, we searched all of the other stores and found one (in a damaged box) at the sayville store. we were told that i couldn't return it (not sure if thats bc it was being discontinued or bc the box was damaged), but i knew that i loved it and would be keeping it. my suggestion....try and get it, find out the return policy....if you love it that much you really want it. thats how i was. same thing ended up happening with my bedding.....we had to order that in pieces online.....i'm telling you....don't these companies realize that pregnancy is a 9 month process and many women register for things in advance...so they should let the stores know when they plan on discontining things!!!! good luck!!!!

What about adding another one on there? You can always return one if you get both. And if you get the new one and find the old one...you can return the new to get the old! I would just not want to not get anything! JMO

******with out a receipt they will not take back discontinured items. They are good with everything else but when it comes to discontinued stuff they are strict. So if you are going to get it make sure you keep your receipt. If someone gets it for your shower hopefully they kept the gift receipt. Ya never know if you might have to take it back.

maybe its available online.. see if someone is willing to buy that way. Thats how i got my glider/ottoman, was only available online and thats the one i wanted, so my brother got me.

I would pick a different one. BRU return policy on discontinued items is crappy.
Unless your heart is really set on it, then go buy it yourself and dont take it off your registry. You can return yours if someone else buys it for you. If you go to the Commack store they will call around for you to see what other stores currently have it in stock.

Someone may have bought it. I had a car seat on mine that was listed the entire time as not available, so last minute before my shower I added another one. Well, my SIL had found the one that was not available, plus we got the other one too. Maybe just add another one on to the registry just incase.

Also, did you look to see if they had it at another store. I know my swing was not available ever at BRU and my mom went over to BBB and go tit there.
