Need some opinions...
With the holidays approaching, I'm considering hosting an open house event to sell my products to our family/friends/repeat customers. We're thinking of making it a one night only event and offering 10% (not including special orders) off. For those of you that don't know, I sell hand-painted items, including glassware, mailboxes, cakeplates, etc... I'm a vendor on LIW besides being a member of LIW/LIF.
So, that being said, we thought we'd like to expand it to offer other items besides just our stuff-- things that we won't be painting. What types of things would you expect to see at an event like this? My business partner though maybe plants or wreaths, etc... but I'm not so sure what we should go out and get ahead of time.
Can't want to hear your responses!

eta: plants and wreaths are good, how about maybe tree skirts, ornaments, gingerbread houses, etc?

dum dum da dum.... I think I'd rather be there!!! I think we're going to do it though- we did it 2 years ago and (go figure after all the years of never getting it) I ended up getting mono a few weeks before (from my nephew who somehow got it from his babysitter- he was 2  ) and couldn't attend my own event! I'm hoping for better luck this year!

That's a great Idea--- I have actually done a couple of orders w/ this in slate already. I'll have to remember to do some samples up! Thanks. Anyone else?

Even the long rectangular signs that say things like...Live Laugh Love.

If it's just items that you are getting from other places (not doing yourselves), I'd have a bunch of holiday decorations/items (since it will be in December) - hand painted ornaments? Decorative plaques like "winter wonderland" stuff with snowmen, etc.
Also coasters, placemats/napkins, potholders/kitchen towels, decorative dried floral things like topiaries (small), wreaths, soaps/bath products, maybe some food items? Like gourmet oils and stuff?
I'll try to think of some more...

Great ideas!! Thanks Carolyn--- there have been so many views to this thread but very few responses. I bought some gorgeous colored martini glasses earlier today that I've decided I'm not going to paint.
I'm going to start a notebook to make sure I have a good assortment of items for everyone. Please respond if you think of other things!!!
