How attentive was your lawyer?
About returning your emails & phone calls within 24 hours? Or about "checking in", even if there wasn't a whole lot of progress, just to tell you where you stood?
Just curious. I don't know if I'm being unreasonable. Wanted to make sure I'm not turning into a drama queen.

He always returned our calls.
If there was a major update, he would call us. OR if he couldn't get in touch w/ someone.
He didn't call to just check in, but I didn't care about that. I just wanted to know when something was going on.
Our mortgage guy on the other hand

Our lawyer called in the beginning to check in & see if we had any q's about the process. He'd always return calls w/i 24 hours. He was also great at the closing explaining what we were signing (the seller's attorney just told her to sign & she was not aware what things were...she had to keep asking her attorney q's).

Ours was horrible - he was not attentive at all 
It would take a couple of phone calls for him to get back in touch with us.
The sellers of our house almost backed out because of him

She would get back to me with in a few hours of calling, depending on if she was at a closing, or with a client.

Our lawyer was HORRENDOUS - never returned phone calls, etc. DH and I are both attorneys and there wasn't even any "professional courtesy" extended to us. It's actually a very sore subject and in hindsight, I wish we fired him.

Mine was great - all phone calls usually returned same day, if not next business day. Then again, she's also a family friend, but I know she'd treat any client that way.

Mine was very attentive! Call back within the hour if I left a mess and sometimes even on weekends just to check in.

Ours was very attentive, he always called back, even if there wasn't a major update.
We were a little frustrated at one point because he didn't order our survey until late in the contract process and there were problems with it and we almost lost our rate - but, it was resolved quickly thankfully!

Very--he is my DH 
I don't know what your situation is at all, obviously, and I do know my DH is very prompt at returning calls, etc. and he's an awesome people person.
However, I absolutely go off when clients call "after hours" like post-6pm or on the weekends--he has a life too! Very frequently, he won't pick up then. And anyway, nothing can usually be accomplished on the weekends. I will say, though, he was dealing with clients on our HONEYMOON in Italy--in a situation when it was a true emergency and during weekday work hours.
