pee pee question
is it normal that my 10 month old puppy sometimes tinkles on the floor. Its just little dribbles and only when shes happy to see us or when we give her a new toy and we go near her, i think shes scared we're gonna take it. It makes me upset bc i feel like shes scared of me.

Re: pee pee question
It's normal. My DH had a dog that would always pee when someone came to the door As long as her bladder and kidney are ok... She is just excited!

Re: pee pee question
You should try to correct this though so she doesn't do it throughout adulthood.
If she is doing it when she sees you for the first time when you come home, try completely ignoring her (I know its hard) walk directly inside, do not even look at her. Give it a minute or 2, walk around the house, kiss DH hello. Then greet her, if she doesn't pee give her huge praise. If she pees then you may need to try ignoring her for 5 min, etc

Re: pee pee question
My girl dog still does this. It is not submissive urination, she just has a weak bladder as many girl dogs do. She is almost 2 now, and she still does it when her bladder is full and she gets excited.
But in case it is submissive urination, just don't talk to her in a high pitched tone when you greet her.

Re: pee pee question
It happened with our rottie until a year and a half. It was not all the time but it happened when he was very very excited. (For example when someone he hasn't seen in awhile came over) We tried to take him out to dohis business before introducing that person/toy. Good luck, they do grow out of it.

Re: pee pee question
Bonnie still does it, she's about 2. But she mostly does it, as Goobster said, when people greet her in a high pitched tone and she gets overly excited. And SOME PEOPLE, no matter how many times we tell them not to, will still do it. So we usually take her outside when people come over, let her tinkle a little, then she's fine.

Re: pee pee question
my lil one is a boy... he's 2 1/2 and still does it when he's excited. but he'll do it the INSTANT we walk in the door, so even if we ignored him for a few min or spoke differently etc it wouldn't make a difference, because he dribbles first lol i can't get mad at him for it, because i know he's not doing it on purpose... drives me nuts though.
