when did you start temping?

Dh and I are having a harder time getting PG than we thought so I've decided to start temping.

I've been using OPKs and we've been BDing at the "correct" time but it hasn't worked so I'd like to start temping to see if I'm Oing.

So my question is, is there a certain time of the month I should start temping or do I just start doing it one morning and stick with that time?

I just started temping - same time every morning. They say it takes about 3 months before you see any sort of pattern and I would agree with that.

Get yourself a basal thermometer. You typically will see a temp spike the day after you've Od...

They say you should start temping at the beginning of a cycle, so you'll see a pattern. However, I just started as soon as I decided to temp - that partial cycle didn't really tell me anything, but it got me in the habit of temping.

i started temping the first day of AF. always temp FIRST thing before you get up and at the same time each day. i use fertilityfriend.com to track my temps and it's been so easy. good luck!

I use temping as per instructions from my RE and for no other reason. It is a pain int he butt, but very useful and informative.

I temp at 5:30 in the am regardless of whether or not I am working or on vacation. It su cks doing it when I am on vacation, but in order to keep things as consistent as possible, I have no choice. I also found that there was absolutely no pattern (for me) from month to month (yet each cycle on its own was reviewed by my doctor and deemed normal) and I temped for over 3 months.

I do not temp anymore but it is very useful to figure out your cycle. Your temps should be pretty much cyclical. Low before O and then rising at least .4 after O. If you notic ethat you have low or erratic temps those could be signs of hormonal issues. I also will recommend TCOYF as that book is what led me to believe I had a progesterone deficiency and allow me to be treated.
