My cousins car got stolen today!
Out of the parking lot in Stony Brook!  I was shocked - is this common at that college? For some reason I always felt she was "safe" there.

That's awful! Do you know where the lot was? I go to the gym near there on 347 and cars are constantly being broken into and stolen.
I think places like that where people leave their cars for quite a while are watched and then stolen. When I used to park at the train station cars were often stolen. It's awful!

my car got robbed when I went there- just ramdom stuff- radar detector, sweater, I think I lef the window open
and I never felt safe on campus really- too many people-

College campuses are notorious for having a lot of crime. When I was in school in the late 80s, stuff disappeared and people were hurt. Nobody is safe and neither are their possessions. It is truly sad.

When I went to school there someone broke into my car (the day before Thanksgiving nonetheless) and stole ONE D A M N thing - my RESIDENT parking sticker!!!!!!!!! Apparently they are a hot commodity because the commuters have to park in one of the commuter parking lots which are much farther away.
And then when I went to graduate, they wouldn't give me my diploma because there was a fine attached to my parking sticker dated AFTER it was stolen. I was like "I have a FILED police report stating that the parking sticker was stolen. Remove the d a m n fine. They finally did!!!
ETA: Sorry about your cousin. That stinks!!!!
