Sorry just have to vent!!!

So I became friends with this girl at my job but she recently left because she hated it here...she was an assistant to 2 sales people and used to complain everyday to me that she hated it and wants to leave. I used to tell her the grass isn't always greener on the other side and to stick it out..I didn't think she had it soo bad to leave. Yes-One sales person was a pain but you can't just leave cause he is a little hard to work for. Anyway--so she left and she could not find a job. A friend of mine was leaving her job and asked if I knew anyone. I mentioned this job to my friend and turns out she was hired..and is making 12k more than she was at my job. She never thanked me for getting her the job..which I was a little ****** about and thought it was rude. Now I come into work this morning to an email from her saying why didn't I warn her about this job. I write to her what's wrong?
So she writes this to me:

this is what I come into today?
Gabby, I just checked in for my flight and I have a middle seat! NEVER EVER book a middle seat for me. I changed the seat so clearly others were available. When I get back we need to go over my travel again.

What is so bad about this email?
Is it me??

Sounds like she will never be happy.

Frankly, I would be annoyed about a middle seat as well, but sometimes you can't pick your seat and you have to do that at the airport.

I am an assistant and have worked for difficult people that that is tame.

Maybe she needs a new line of work.

I would write her back, that she needs to give it a chance and learn how to work with different personality types. It will make her life a lot easier not matter what the job is.

Also, write her a big you are welcome for getting you a new job.

I don't see what's so bad about the email either. If I was the person traveling I would be annoyed with having a middle seat too.


And, your friend should have thanked you for the job lead.

So, this girl thinks you should have "warned" her that someone might be p!ssed that she booked them on a middle seat when aisle/window seats were available? That's nothing that needs a warning, that's common sense. Besides, assuming she had the ability to pick the person's seat, why in the world would she give them a middle seat?

I agree that it sounds like she'll never be happy. She sounds like someone who doesn't understand that it's called "work" for a reason.

I'd also be tiffed that she didn't thank you for referring her to that other job. She could have at least taken you out for a drink or dinner as a thank you. Especially since she's making $12K more now at the new job.

Some people arent happy unless they complain and make everything about themselves. This person doesnt sound like they will ever find a job they will be happy with. I wouldnt concern yourself with her complaining. Just yes her to death, thats what i do.

I agree-It does sound like she will always be that person to never be happy with her job no matter what!
I don't even wanna respond back to her email!! I didn't even want to be taken out for a drink or dinner but I did want a simple thank you!!!
