responsibility indicator?

I was driving today and was stopped at a light. In the minivan next to me, there was a woman driving, with a baby in a carseat in the backseat.

She was BLASTING Korn. And I mean BLASTING.

With her BABY in the car!!!!

Is it just me, or is that INCREDIBLY irresponsible?!?!

You're a mother, grow up.

Korn?!?!?

eta: It was so loud that I could hear it....my windows were closed, and so were hers.

Re: responsibility indicator?

I wouldn't listen to stereo so loud that others outside the car could hear it...but if James seems to be enjoying a particular song I turn it up....its fun to watch him get excited over music

i kid, i wouldn't do that either and i don't see how parents have kids in their cars and music blasting..the poor kids ears are still developing and they could get permanent damage

Re: responsibility indicator?

I think the volume bothers me more than what's playing. Forget what it's doing to that mother's hearing, I'd worry about damaging the kids eardrums!

Re: responsibility indicator?

Well as some others said, I think the volume of the radio is what would bother me more than the fact that Korn was playin' (sorry, but I like Korn Chat Icon)

NOW if the child was older and the song was an unedited version.. then heck no, no way they should be listening to that type of stuff Chat Icon

Re: responsibility indicator?

Personally I Think that is wrong !!! I mean that poor kid .... but if it is a nice song that isn't screaming and is not hitting Decibles of a million then I wouldn't care .. plus I know when I listen to music I am singing dancing (COMPLETE DISTRACTION )

Re: responsibility indicator?

Depending on how old the child is.

When I drive with my cousin and her daugter (who is 4 years old) she LOVES to sing (especially Luther Vandross) - if we are listening to him she says "Louder" - we put it louder then she says "Louder" again. She sings on the TOP of her lungs!!! She loves it.

The volume that she was playing the music bothers me. That poor baby's ears!

Re: responsibility indicator?

I agree about the volume..that's not good for either mother or baby.

But I listen to all sorts of stuff around Amber and she really has a liking towards hard rock, etc. She LOVES Pearl Jam. Now at a year, she has no clue what they are singing about, but when she can comprehend what they are singing about, I'll be more careful about lyrical content, etc. I want her to be exposed to all forms of music, not just one flavor. And yes, that does include KornChat Icon

How many times as a kid did you sing a song and had NO CLUE what the real meaning was? My favorite used to be she-bop!Chat Icon

Re: responsibility indicator?

Yeah, the volume was my main issue. The kid was still in a rear-facing seat, too. had to be young.
