Whose responsibility is this (work q)
Last week when it rained our basement must have been flooded and then receeded, it smells beyond terrible. like something is dead--there is a musty, moldy, rechid smell in our office and I kno its b/c of the wet carpet.. so anyways i come in to work today--our office has NO windows it is very small and 1 ac..the smell is horrid and making my throat itch and nose burn..so i say to my coworkers (all men) omg that smell is awful, we need to open the doors, and do something about it..there answer is no its to hot to open the doors..i said so lets open the doors, shut the acs for just afew minutes and bring up the de-humidiferis and try and dry up some of that mositure and they said no..im truly ****** off..my boss is not here all week, and i have major mold allergies, i have been in the hospital b4 due to a reaction from mold, and its not at all safe to breathe this smell in and god only knows what else is being circulated in this air with no windows!!!.... am i wrong to be pizzed off? i feel like calling my supervisor but b/.c hes not here--and the 2nd person in charge is not here--and the 3rd guy in charge is the one who basically said 'oh well" WHAT MORE CAN I DO..... IM SO ANNOYED..when i drop dead at my desk, we shall see what gets done..

I would call your supervisor ASAP! mold is a really big deal! and since you have allergies, it's a big health risk for you.
good luck

call the supervisor and if you get no response, get a de-humidifier and bill it to the company, lol. Can you call the landlord or super of the building? Last resort, you can call OSHA....

Re: Whose responsibility is this (work q)
My advice is shut the ac and open the doors, and tell the others to get over it. If they say you can't do it, then email/call your supervisor and tell them that you can't work in these conditions and that you aren't being allowed to fix the situation, and you're going home.
It's not so hot outside that the heat will kill them, and you have to be able to breath, it's ludicrous for them to tell you "oh well".

I would call the building services. Find out who manages the building. It's their responsibility if there is a leak.

I would stay home until your supervisor gets back.....if it's a health hazard to you, you shouldn't be exposed to it.
Explain the situation to your boss when they return....

Definitely! I have severe mold allergies too... There's no way I'd spend another minute in that place! Good luck!
