Male Factor Ladies
It seems there are a few of us who are currently dealing with male factor. I don't know about you but I am having a hard time finding articles/research about it. One artilce I did read said IUI was a waste of time for couples with poor morphology, another one said it was a great option. There seem to be a million vitamins/herbs/supplements, but how do you know what really works?
Also, I would LOVE to hear some success stories from those who had MFI and went onto have healthy babies.
I just feel like this whole issue is still so taboo, it's amazing!

Re: Male Factor Ladies
I haven't gotten a BFP yet, but DH has SA in early July - had low count - 36 million - all other stats were good - on or slightly above average. Immediately I sent him to my acupuncturist...he sees him every other week and takes the herbs hes given 2 x a day. Well, I don't know if something was wrong with the first test or DH is just responding great to the treatment ...but the first IUI in August - after the wash was 58 million total and 90% motility...the second IUI last Friday was 66 million after the wash and 97% motility. RE is amazed.
So now it's all up to God in the middle of my 2 ww.

Re: Male Factor Ladies
We have severe MF...the counts were really low and so was morphology. We did IVF/ICSI and got pregnant on our first try...I am currently 31 weeks. We were advised against IUI because of the counts. IMO IUI is good if you have slight MF not moderate or severe.
DH also started taking and still takes a regimen of vitamins which helped increase his count slightly. He has bi-lateral varicoceles and plans on getting surgery which hopefully will help. FM me if you need more info.
Good Luck.

Re: Male Factor Ladies
We do not deal with MF but in my research I always find out other things
I really respect This lady She also has an excellent book called The Infertility Cure that has lots of info about MF.
I have also read that L-arginine and acupuncture can help.

Re: Male Factor Ladies
We dealt with a male factor issue. After discussing it with our RE, and looking at the success rate of iui vs. ivf, we opted to go straight to ivf. The first cyclye was a success but unfortunately ended in a miscarriage. I am currently 5 1/2 months pg with a very healthy baby that was the result of ivf. Good luck.

Re: Male Factor Ladies
Thanks for all the responses!! I'll definately be looking into accupuncture, although convincing DH to go will be a battle in itself.

Re: Male Factor Ladies
We had MF issues, and were about to go onto IVF when IUI #5 worked for us.
I think that if you have severe MF issues, then IVF with ICSI is our best bet.
We had both count and morphology issues, so I consider my pregnancy a miracle with the IUI.
I am currently 19 weeks pg.

If it's a battle b/c of the needles tell him not to worry, you don't feel it and it's actually very relaxing. The needles go in his ankles and below the knee! Just in case he was nervous they would go somewhere else!

That wasn't what I was thinking, but now I am cracking up. Can you imagine?? I don't think any guy would sign up for that

That's what worked for us.
