Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
Yes, I have a password for every single screen at the office and I stick to the same password. I also have the same password for online accts. Otherwise I'd be a mess.

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
I have the same password but vary letters for numbers...for example instead of using the letter "i", I use 1, for "s" I use 5.

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
No, but I group them. For instance, I use one for all my online shopping accounts, another one for all my bank related stuff, another for school related stuff and another for email. This way, I only have to remember a few, but they are not all the same.

I try to keep all of my passwords the same so I remember them but it never seems to work out where everything can have the same password.

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
I don't and I advise all of you not to.
Mine are separated into groups, each group has a theme and DH and I have a coded system to help us remember. They all get changed quarterly except the last 2. DH works in internet security. I wouldn't be this careful otherwise but he's shown me how easy it is to steal and use someone's passwords.
Work passwords and pins
Financial passwords and pins
Household and utility related
Email Accounts
Shopping Related
Social/Fun Related

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
NO! DH had someone hack into his email account and caused some problems. (At that time all of his bills were paid online) Since then I have different passwords for everything and I always delete the user ID and password confirmation emails that I get when I sign up for new stuff. And I dont pay any of my bills online anymore.

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
I used to.
Now I have so many passwords I cant keep up that I have to make a list. At work it's worse, I have 4 internet sites I go to just for customer service issues that all require passwords (thank goodness the company made them so I can ask my boss if I forget), about 10 booking sites I go to that are all password needed, not to mention my own computer log in, my phone, and my booking password.

Re: Do you have the same password for everything?
Nope. But I do reuse passwords for certain things. So there is my "generic" password that I use for unimportant stuff like registering on websites and junk.
Then there are my work passwords which are totally different.
Then there are my email passwords which are totally different.
Then there are my bill paying passwords which the same for all bill paying sites, but different than any of my other passwords.
And finally, there is my banking password which is the most secure one.
It's alot to remember but I manage and important to do so.
Some tips for creating "safe" passwords:
1- don't use a word found in any language dictionary 2 - use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, symbols, and numbers 3 - don't use birthdates or anniversaries 4 - don't use pet names or children's names

Perfectly said, Ms. Network Admin. As another network admin, people laugh when I give them their passwords. 10 character minimum, max complexity. I keep this comic on my desk, and when people complain I photocopy it and give it to them.

Well, I look at it this way. My employees and clients will stop complaining and learn it eventually. I will NEVER stop complaining and forget having to deal with a hacked server from a weak password. So, too bad for them.
