Went to Blydenburgh Park today
The furkids had a ball! We started in the big area but Denver was intimidated by a Dobie so we moved to the smaller area. We stayed about an hour and a half, the doggies ran around and made doggie friends, and DH & I thought it was great. TY for posting about this!

We took Katie there too! I think we got there about 2 and left at 4. At first Katie was afraid of the big dog section so we took her into the little dog one. She was more comfortable but then she ticked off a schnoodle so we went back into the big section. She loved it! We will bring Annie with us next time.
We were there with a white schnoodle too!

We went this morning and it was fun. Lexy (my dog) was very timid at first. It was her first dog park experience. As time went on, she became more comfortable and began to socialize. It was great. I will definitely go back with her again.

I went on Sunday also. Did you see the letter that was attached to the gate? Apparently, a dog was attacked last week. The owner of the aggressive dog took off (with the dog)! The injured dog was taken to the vet and I believe he/she is fine. I admit, I do get a little nervous at first when the dogs are getting to know each other. I think that maybe I should monitor the dogs that are playing before I enter.

Sorry, I meant to write that the owner took off with the dog. The laminated letter was attached to the inside gate of the larger dog area. A nice woman was there on Sunday and was taking names and e-mail addresses for Friends of Blydenburgh. She mentioned that we could get e-mails in case the dog park was closed for any reason or inform us of any incidents that might occur since there was one last week. When I asked what happened she said that it was taken care of so I didn't ask any more questions. When I was leaving, I saw the letter which described what happened.

Smithtown-
The dog park is located on the Activity Field north of the campground in the southern section of the park. The entrance to the park is on Veterans Memorial Hwy., opposite the H. Lee Dennison Building on the north side of the highway. From the West, the park is about 1 mile from the end of the Northern State Parkway. From the East, the park is about ½ mile from the merge between 347 and Veterans Hwy.
